Who is the art contest for?

Youth, age 24 or younger, who have experienced parental incarceration.

What can be submitted?

• Submit art, poems, visual art, performance art, and photos on any topic you wish. 

• We welcome entries about how educators can support you. 

• We welcome entries about incarceration. For example:

  • How having an incarcerated parent affects you

  • How you cope(d) with having an incarcerated parent

  • Your relationship with your parent

  • Visiting an incarcerated parent 

  • Or, anything else you choose to focus on
     

Is there a prize?

Yes! There will be $100 and $50 prizes.

 

What will you do with my art? 

Your art will be included in the “Voices from SUSU” page, and select submissions will be shared on SUSU social media platforms. We will only include your first name and age. 
 

How do I enter the contest?  

1. Email entries to Allison Hollihan at ahollihan@osborneny.org by Monday, October 25 2021

2. Post on your social media account using #SUSUArtContest #SeeUsSupportUs and tag us at one or both of the following:
