Subject: Vote on A4250A to Protect Visiting in NYS prisons and jails

Hi, my name is ________ and I urge Speaker Heastie to schedule A4250A, the Protect In-Person Visiting bill for a full vote this session. I am fearful that jails and prisons in New York will reduce or eliminate visiting in favor of costly video conferencing because this is happening in other States. Children and families are counting on you to ensure this does not happen in New York. The Senate passed this bill in 2019 and again this year. Please vote to protect in-person visits now.

Subject: Vote on A4250A to Protect Visiting at NYS prisons and jails

Hi, my name is ________ and I urge Assemblymember Weinstein to place A4250A, the Protect In-Person Visiting bill on the Ways & Means Committee agenda this session. I am fearful that jails and prisons in New York will reduce or eliminate visiting in favor of video conferencing because this is happening in other States. This bill will not cost the State money as it simply codifies existing visiting practices in State prisons. Counties not already offering weekend or evening visiting hours in their facilities may incur a nominal cost to change their visiting hours initially. Children and families are counting on you to protect in-person visits now.
