Join the SUSU Youth Team!

SUSU celebrates the ideas and talents of children and youth who have or had an incarcerated parent. We are accepting submissions through October 31, 2024. Winner will be announced in November 2024.

Who is the art contest for?

Youth, up to age 24, who have experienced parental incarceration.

What can be submitted?

Submit art, poems, visual art, performance art, and photos on any topic you wish.
We welcome entries about how educators can support you.
We welcome entries about incarceration, For example:
- How having an incarcerated parent affects you
- How you cope(d) with having an incarcerated parent
- Your relationship with your parent
- Visiting an incarcerated parent
- Or, anything else you choose to focus on

Is there a prize?

Yes! There will be $100 and $50 prizes.

What will you do with my art?

Your art will be included in the “Voices from SUSU” page, and select submissions will be shared on SUSU social media platforms. We will only include your first name and age.
